Crash (2004)

The prompt for this project was to make an art poster based on the key concepts in Paul Haggis’ 2004 film “Crash.” I had originally planned to take close-up photographs of some small beads and charms that represent themes from the film, but I was encouraged to make it more experimental so I went out and bought a bunch of clay. I pressed the clay into a baking sheet, pressed the beads into it, and added the film's title in silver. I then waited a week for it to dry, smashed it with a hammer, and photographed it in the morning light. See if you can spot some of the charms imprinted in the clay!
